Frank Ancona Honda Cleared From KKK Mix-Up Thanks To KC Media

Jennings Social Media & MarTech (JSMM) worked extremely hard to clear up a horrible mix-up resulting in part from online searches. Frank Ancona, owner of Frank Ancona Honda for more than 50 years, was believed to be the same man as a KKK leader in Park Hills, Mo. who shares an identical name.

Today, the Olathe Honda dealer is cleared of the confusion. We crafted a press release about the ordeal and pitched several Kansas City TV and print media outlets about the situation.

We worked to get the word out to as many media outlets in the local area as possible. They took the bull by the horns and made sure Kansas City knew about the terrible misunderstanding. To date, the Kansas City Business Journal, KCTV5, KMBC and Fox 4 Kansas City have all covered the story.

James Dornbrook, reporter for the KC Biz Journal, was the first on the case.

According to Michael Ancona, president of Frank Ancona Honda, “We are deeply saddened and outraged to learn about the online mix-up and express our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims affected by the tragedy at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City and Village Shalom. We barely knew of his existence until the shocking events. Over the past week, we have received phone calls and inquiries asking whether or not there is any association between my father or the dealership and this individual. None of us are associated, affiliated or related to this man. We weren’t even that familiar with him until the shocking events occurred in Johnson County which triggered more search results. The entire issue is horrible and extremely upsetting to our family.”

We are extremely grateful to the press for tackling this sensitive story and for responding immediately to the press release, as well as expressing their sympathies to the dealership.
