Jason Carter – Panelist – Jason is the sales manager at Family Features Editorial Syndicate, partnering with PR agencies, brands, associations and commodity boards around the country. Family Features specializes in crafting and securing coverage of branded content via their network of 10,000+ editors at newspapers, magazines and websites nationwide.


Valerie Jennings – Panelist – Valerie is the CEO and founder of two digital marketing agencies, Jennings Social Media & MarTech. She started her first company at the age of 24 in Overland Park, Kansas, in 2003. Valerie is an early adopter in social media since 2005. She is also an investor in Betablox, one of the largest startup incubators in Kansas City, was Kansas City’s Most Wanted Honoree in 2015 for her business achievements, mentorship and philanthropic contributions to the community. David Barnard – Panelist – David is a partner at Lathrop & Gage. He leads Lathrop’s Intellectual Property Litigation team and helped assemble Lathrop’s new Brand Development and Protection team. In a 2012 jury trial in Los Angeles, Dave and his trial team won the fifth highest false advertising verdict in U.S. history.


Blake Hodges – Panelist – Blake Hodges is the manager of digital marketing analytics for Black & Veatch in Overland Park, Kansas. He is responsible for the tracking and gathering of data used to generate actionable marketing intelligence for Black & Veatch’s global business units. Blake got his start in marketing analytics while at GlynnDevins Advertising & Marketing, between 2008 and 2016, where he also directed search and email marketing campaigns.


Simon Kuo – Moderator – Simon has been an active entrepreneur and investor since 2008. He has been a partner at BetaBlox since 2012, a mentor at SparkLab KC and prior to joining the startup community, was a Fortune 60 to 300 executive.
